Update from Administrator – May 9, 2022

5.9.2022

Good afternoon,

I am writing to notify you that we had 3 employees test positive for COVID-19: 2 of which work on Brookview unit and the other employee works in the office with limited resident contact. The residents and staff who were exposed on this unit were tested today and are negative.  The residents and staff will continue to be monitored and tested, per CDC and DPH guidance.   No new cases on Whispering Pines,

We will continue to follow CDC and DPH guidance.

CT’s 7-day Rolling COVID-19 positivity rate is to 11.3%.

At this time, the facility remains open for visitation. For the safety of the residents, we encourage you not to visit if you have been exposed or are not feeling well. Please note, if you are visiting a resident on the Whispering Pines unit: first check in with the front desk receptionist, review and sign our Covid-19 waiver form, then enter the unit through our back entrance. PPE will be provided to you for your safety.

This week we are celebrating National Nursing Home week, with many events scheduled which are open to residents, families and staff.

Thank you to those of you who have returned consent forms for your loved ones to receive the second booster.  We will begin to administer the second boosters to eligible residents this week.  If you have not returned the consent form, please do so at your earliest convenience.

We appreciate your continued patience and understanding at this time.

Hope that you are safe, and healthy.
